Around SBN: College Football Preseason Top 25 Rankings

Early Entry Fun: Mallett, Mannginham, Arrington, Thomas All Gone

Regarding next year's Irish opponents...

  • Michigan has lost Ryan Mallett, Adrian Arrington (he of the unbelievable Citrus Bowl) and Mario Manningham (he of the unbelievable 2006 game at ND), and Coach Rodriguez is just looking towards the future.  This is obviously very good news for the Irish, although I was excited when Alan Branch and Calvin Johnson left last early last offseason, and that didn't exactly help us win anything.
  • This is a bit dated, but also moving on up is Michigan State wide receiver and returner Devin Thomas, whose 1260 yards and 8 TD's will be going to the professional ranks.  Thomas had four catches for 55 yards and a score against the Irish, as well as 98 yards in the return game.  He was pretty productive and ridiculously hyped, so it's probably good he's leaving before the former can match up to the latter.
No word on most of the Southern Cal underclassmen - not that there aren't replacements ready to step in - and I don't think there's any chance Jake Locker and LeSean McCoy are leaving.  I also find it hilarious some sites have Todd Boeckman on lists of "Likely To Return."  Oh really, he is?  He looked so polished on Monday night, I can't believe he's not testing the waters.

Boeckman will have to work hard to keep his job
Anyawys... I'm scared of that QB recruit probably going to Michigan. He's scary.

Pryor is indeed a monster...
...but he'll need some throwing polish to go with those legs.  I'll actually be watching him play hoops this weekend, a sport I think he's also a Top 50 recruit in.
