So there it is, one of the most embarrassing losses you'll ever see in any aspect of life.  I've been a Pittsburgh Pirate and Miami Dolphin fan my entire life, so trust me when I strongly suggest to you I'm well aware of how losing goes, but I don't think I've ever seen anything like that (except maybe this).  People are jumping ship (like Ricky Williams from the Dolphins) and there's a very good chance we're going to set a record for ineptitude this season (as the Pirates do every year), and I'm left to wonder what happened to the 19 wins this team accumulated over the last two seasons.

I'm not nearly as hopeful as Rob or others that things will turn around Saturday.  Call that the Pirate fan in me, because just when you think it will get worse, it does.  Michigan State is a hard-hitting football team that is simply going to run run run it on us, and unless someone has the testicular fortitude to step up and make a tackle, we will lose.  Unless someone has the inspiration to block somebody, we will lose.  There is no John L. Smith here to save us with bumbling ineptitude to the thousandth degree.  Their lines are going to lean on us very, very hard, and unless someone pushes back, we will lose.

Is it possible Weis rights the ship and we steal a couple of games going into November?  Maybe.  Possibly.  Nothing is impossible, but would you bet on it?  Is there anything in this team that makes you feel like it can all of a sudden deliver a smack in the mouth to somebody?  I don't think so, but I'd love to be proven wrong.

The saddest thing I heard about Saturday was that when Notre Dame fans were leaving, Michigan fans weren't making fun of them because even they felt pity for us.  That sort of reaction almost makes me wish they were chucking eggs.

The healing, Spartan preparation and Demetrius Jones questioning begins tomorrow, but for now, simply burn these images into your mind and remember why you never want them to happen again.

For the record
I do not think we will win on Saturday.

Neither my post or any comment I've made (drunk or not) has implied that.

We won't win until November
Face it now, prepare yourself for the worst before you have a big letdown.

ND 28 - MSU 17
...trying to keep the positivity going and making a prediction.

Most of my Michigan fan friends aren't having a lot of fun with the win.  Usually it is rubbed in whenever Michigan wins.  But our response of "...yeah...we're not very good" takes some of the fun out of it.  Their two beatings they took prior to the win probably take away the rest.

that sparty win streak in south bend is almost as frustrating as the bowl losing streak.
