Campus hit by storm, Basilica damaged

Notre Dame's campus was hit around 5:00 pm today by tornado-like winds, leaving trees snapped and one spire on the Basilica destroyed.  As far as anyone knows, there were no injuries, which is good, but Stepan still stands, which is no good.

Post on NDNation with a bunch of pictures.

Nonsense
I would have much rather seen Alumni go down rather than Stepan.

Video
Also see the video linked in one of the replies, which has more detail of the damage around Stonehenge than the stills.

I was out there around noontime today taking pictures, but they had already cut down most of the destroyed trees.  Of the twelve pear trees at the corners of the plaza around the fountain, one survived.

Correction...
I believe there were 12 originally, but there are fewer than 11 fresh stumps, so a couple were apparently lost previously.
