We're All Professionals Here: Darius Walker, Ryan Grant and Chris Quinn
We've reached a little break in content from the site, as an awkward Finals week coincides with a lack of really anything going on in the Irish world. The basketball team is on a mini-hiatus until next weekend and I have little desire to review a football season when the conclusion for every position will be "We sucked, but Trevor Laws was awesome." Still, there are a few interesting anecdotes that caught my eye...
First off, Darius Walker is getting some serious playing time for the Texans thanks to some injuries and the fact coaches are realizing he's a very capable back. He can block, catch and if given some competent blocking, do some damage on the ground. He was the leading rusher for Houston last week, along with six catches, as Sage Rosenfels led the Texans to victory. It was almost a repeat performance last night, but D-Walk fell one yard behind Ron Dayne. Thankfully, I can still say "A NFL Team is Undefeated with Sage Rosenfels Starting and Darius Walker as Their Leading Rusher." D-Walk's next victim? The Indianapolis Colts. Quake in your shoes, Bob Sanders.

In much sadder news, Brady Quinn has yet to throw a pass for the resurgent Browns, as the Curse of the 2004 Insight Bowl lives on. On a considerably more exciting note, we're well on our way to a Philip Rivers/Drew Brees situation in Cleveland, which is always fun for everyone. Choose wisely, Phil Savage.
And in perhaps the most shocking professional development of former Irish players, Chris Quinn was the leading scorer for the Miami Heat in their loss to the team-oriented Washington Wizards last night. In a game where future Hall of Famers Dwyane Wade (I'm declaring it) and Shaquille O' Neal (although the Diesel is obviously laboring) played on his team, Quinn was the leading scoring, notching 22 points on 7-of-13 shooting, including six threes (!!!). After sitting on the bench to start the season, Pat Riley has given Quinn the go, and the former Irish point guard has played 44, 34 and 34 minutes in his last three games. If we can somehow get Chris Quinn into the three-point shooting contest while Chris Thomas cheers him on from the sideline, my life will be complete.

I have no idea.
