U.S. Air Force Academy Falcons at University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish - Open Thread

If we had trouble with stopping Navy last week, those same problems are going to flare up against the Falcons.  Hopefully getting that close to victory and having it snatched away - by Supermanning, by Reggie Campbell, by Weis - will inspire the team to make the next step.

A few things to watch for:

  • The health of Jimmy Clausen.  He's starting, but is he finishing?  He hasn't played good football, unless you count the hall monitoring against UCLA, since the second half against Purdue.
  • How does Weis coach?  After a week where he took a lot of heat for a lot of decisions, will he get conservative?  Insane in his play-calling?  Stay the same?  (Whatever that means)
  • Armando Allen had his breakout game against Navy, but it was Navy's defense (Of course, it was behind our offensive line).  Can he sustain it going against a significantly better defense that will obviously be paying some attention to him?
Go Irish, Beat Falcons.  Enjoy the marshmallow war in the senior section, it should be something to see.

  1. what a courageous effort by our university.
  2. if not for lazy bob davie, the irish would've won this game by four touchdowns.
  3. an outstanding job by charlie weis and corwin brown and our fine coaching staff.
  4. especially coach latina, who did a great job teaching our o-line how to block (6 sacks vs. AF, 5 sacks vs. navy).
  5. ND is coming back!
have a great day,

our friend bob t.

but really in all seriousness, i thought clausen actually showed some flashes.  its just too bad his WRs couldnt hold on to the ball.  duke is the last chance at another W this season...
