Charlie Weis perfects mind control. In related news, Jonas Gray is Irish.

So Jonas Gray is Irish - which you can read about here and here - meaning that now both Nebraska and Michigan fans will be sending more jagged barbs the way of South Bend.  This is totally shocking, but before we get too excited, please remember signing day is still many a day off.  If a player is kind enough to renege on one verbal, he just might pull out on a second.

Great news anyway, as we all await the 1-7 start to actually effect recruiting in a negative way.  Crack open a Natty Light and celebrate by shotgunning with Justin Timberlake!

I may be wrong
but you guys may regret taking this kid. He showed a lot of interest in schools like Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State and that interest was not reciprocated for some reason. He practically begged Lloyd Carr for a scholarship offer. Nobody knows why the Big Ten schools didn't show interest, but it certainly wasn't for a lack of talent.

jonas gray is a fine talented student athlete
  1. no one is going to regret having jonas gray at notre dame. we simply do not believe that story about begging lllloyd( losses to the buckeyes) carr for a scholarship.
  2. and yes, jonas will stick with notre dame, as will the other 2008 verbals. charlie and corwin brown and their staffs have met personnally with each of these 2008 recruits and with their families and have been brutally honest.
jonas always wanted notre dame. however, he had to work on his academics before he got his offer. he did the academic work with great determination and courage and success.
  1. with a lot of assistance from those fine courageous young men on the 2007 notre dame team, charlie and corwin and their staffs have brought back notre dame recruiting from the dead by hitting the pavement all over the us and spending quality time with high school coaches who had not seen anyone from notre dame for decades.
  2. in addition to ranking no 1 in recruiting for 2008, something which could never have been done by any other coaching staff at any school other than notre dame with a very ugly 1-7 start, we rank the players on the 2007 notre dame team no 1 in courage, dedication, hard work, and loyalty.
5.we are not going to miss one second of any of the remaining games of this 2007 nd team. they are not 300 in number, but they have the courage of the 300 spartans who took a lot of insults and hits from vastly more experienced teams and knowingly put their nfl futures in jeopardy, but, in the end, made it possible for this fine notre dame coaching staff to turn around the notre dame football program.
  1. to compete for national championships, a team needs talent at every position, depth of talent at every position, and experience.
  2. with the depth of talent in house with this 2008 recruiting class, notre dame has all of those qualities for the 1st time in decades.
  3. as for experience, with depth of talent, comes the ability to use those hard hitting joe moore type of preseason and before each game practices that made notre dame great during the 1980's and 1990's and will make notre dame even greater in the near future.
  4. unlike so many other coaching staffs at so many other schools, charlie and corwin and their staffs have done all this with integrity and without compromising notre dame's high academic standards and without the jc transfers that the other schools use to fill in recruiting gaps.
  5. this is only one of the reasons why there never has, and never will be, any institution to compete with notre dame and her spirit.
  6. if you think that the type of high character talented and intelligent student athletes whom notre dame recruits have not seen crooked refs at the high school level, you would be mistaken.
  7. if you think that these recruits have not seen football players used as pieces of raw meat, with no consideration given to their education or character deveopment at the high school level, you would also be mistaken.
go irish!! win out

bob gilleran

ps taking into account all of these factors, this 2007 season has been a great one, the 1-7 start on paper be damned.

in case anyone has not noticed, nd solid verbal joe fauria of crespi in the san fernando valley in california has grown from a te into a 6"8" lightning fast ot, who will be ready to play for nd in 2008.

right

"ps taking into account all of these factors, this 2007 season has been a great one, the 1-7 start on paper be damned."

38-0 loss and 37-0 loss to michigan be damned, this has been an outstanding season!  give me a break.

with your logic, if notre dame makes the insight bowl next season, we should hold a freakin' parade in south bend.

the recruiting is a bright spot, especially for the future of this program.  however, i will never put the word "great" next to this 2007 season.

i'll watch notre dame football for the rest of my lifetime and i doubt there will ever have a season as pathetic and disheartening as this one has been.
