Raking The Muck: Staying Within NCAA Limits

Quick one to get you started on your Monday morning.

In regards to the much-discussed Michigan story, I don't think there's going to be a lot here when Michigan/the Big Ten/the NCAA get done investigating.  From the moment you start playing sports in high school, you become aware of how voluntary these voluntary workouts are.  From everyone I knew that played a sport in college, it only gets worse, and while this may just be another sign that players and the media covering the team already want Rich Rodriguez gone, I don't think anything comes from this.  I'm sure the General Studies and Kinesiology departments are a little bummed out so many of their students don't have time to study on the weekends, but that might be the worst that comes from it.

(Those are my honest feelings, but hey, if the above paragraph works as a counter-jinx, so be it.)

BlueGraySky - who has all sorts of fun stuff over there as we get ready for the season - got their annual picture of all the tickets, and my, aren't they pretty?  Six days until kickoff, folks, and once you make it until Thursday, they'll be football waiting for you.

A nice little Q&A (poorly formatted, but content-wise, interesting) with AD Jack Swarbrick.

Okay, plan for the rest of the week on my end is going to be a review of Jim Dent's Resurrection in time for its release tomorrow, a Profile of Fear on Mr. Colin Kaepernick, a broader preview of the Nevada Wolf Pack and then a sort of end of summer look ahead to the Irish season, although I think last week's Formidable Opponent summed up my feelings nicely.  We're almost through the desert, friends; stay together, and we'll make it.
