Starting Line-ups

Hillesland not Zeller.

We match up well size-wise against these guys, and if Zeller can play well, they don’t have anyone with his height.

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 12:06 PM EST reply actions

Three from Ayers to start

Man, if he’s on today that’ll be a huge boost.

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 12:07 PM EST reply actions

Hillesland needs to stop

trying to break people down from the top of the key. It’s like her heard all of those people last year who called him a slasher and now thinks he’s Lebron.

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 12:10 PM EST reply actions

Kmac

Missed two free throws to start. Apparently has 95 threes this year already and was recruited as a point guard.

I would love to see him bring the ball up with Jackson instead of Hillesland

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 12:12 PM EST reply actions

Three misses

and then McDermott slams a board over Gody. We are the worst defensive rebounding team in the world.

Thank God, Kmac is on.

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 12:15 PM EST reply actions

18-10

at the first TV break. Shades of the WVU game. Hopefully not.

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 12:16 PM EST reply actions

No points yet for gody

he needs to get involved in this series

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 12:18 PM EST reply actions

I renounce what I said about a Zeller size advantage. Their center just made him look dumb.

not as dumb as hillesland driving and hitting the bottom of the rim.

18-17. this is the WVU game

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 12:21 PM EST reply actions

nice tip in for zeller

this game is the anti-defense.

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 12:22 PM EST reply actions

tv timeout

we lost that segment between the u16 and the u12: 8-9
we were also horrible out-rebounded on our own boards.

this segment between u12 and u8 will make or break this game.

calling it now, whoever wins this segment wins the game.

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 12:25 PM EST reply actions

gody's back

and trying to take a 14 foot running hook. could be a long one for him

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 12:27 PM EST reply actions

Ty Nash sighting!

Fouling and getting scored on.

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 12:27 PM EST reply actions

Ryan Ayers

sporting a little playoff beard. scruff. shadow.

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 12:28 PM EST reply actions

Winner of this segment:

Notre Dame: 6
Providence: 5

Could’ve been more, but the Gody foul gave the ball back to the Friars

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 12:31 PM EST reply actions

Another humiliating block

this time on Nash. He’s supposed to be the tough guy.

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 12:34 PM EST reply actions

38-24

Great run by ND, great energy by Nash

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 12:36 PM EST reply actions

Announcer just used the line:

“A little traveling music,” to describe a Providence player who walked.

Ayers is 6 of 7 from three.

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 12:40 PM EST reply actions

Irish crushed in that segment

double-digit lead going into half would be great, but i’ll be happy as long as we don’t collapse

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 12:44 PM EST reply actions

J-PEEP!

getting in on the three parade

46-29 Irish

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 12:45 PM EST reply actions

Hillesland kills me

He looks so awkward out there. He makes Gody look like steve nash

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 12:46 PM EST reply actions

J-PEEP AGAIN!

strong drive. where am i?

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 12:50 PM EST reply actions

49-37 for the Irish at the half

I’m loving this, but am I totally confident. No. No, sir.

If we could board on D, we’d be up 25;

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 12:56 PM EST reply actions

I love these Bassmaster Classic commericals!

Drama! Intensity! A guy with his hands in a fish!

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 1:05 PM EST reply actions

Start of the second

Keys to the win: Keep the ridiculous three-point shooting. get gody involved

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 1:09 PM EST reply actions

First hit from Gody

That weird running-away jumper. Still no D

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 1:09 PM EST reply actions

Gody with the worst looking turn-around ever

but hits and misses the foul shot. we’re leaving too many points on the line

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 1:11 PM EST reply actions

Luke picks up his third

He’s smart though, we’ll see how this goes

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 1:13 PM EST reply actions

we need to set our feet on our threes

kmac can hit ’em falling to the side, but ayers needs to get set.

not complaining too much, but they know this

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 1:14 PM EST reply actions

Offense seems off

that should be a hint to work it in to Gody instead of Jackson jacking a three

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 1:20 PM EST reply actions

Gody picked up his fourth.

Crap call. Providence guy never had position.

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 1:24 PM EST reply actions

Zeller time!

and J-Peep. Facing a press. No good. Providence on an 11-2 run.

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 1:25 PM EST reply actions

J-Peep with another trey!

Then and and-1 for the little guy going for his 11th point of the game!

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 1:27 PM EST reply actions

worst stat of the game so far

ND is 5-11 from the free throw line. 6-12 now that Peoples hit.

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 1:30 PM EST reply actions

Another bucker for Nash

another dime for Peoples. He’s playing great.

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 1:31 PM EST reply actions

We're getting hammered by the refs

I don’t like it. Three by Providence. Don’t like that either. Ayers trying to hit a three on the run. Worst ever.

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 1:33 PM EST reply actions

Ty Nash has got 4 fouls as well

Gody might have to get back in sooner than we’d like. Or maybe a little Carlton Scott time.

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 1:34 PM EST reply actions

Nash is done.

9:44 left. Zeller in now.

These announcers on espn360 hasn’t even noticed.

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 1:35 PM EST reply actions

ND in the 1-and-1 bonus

I guess that’s good if we can start hitting free throws.

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 1:36 PM EST reply actions

Kmac's losing his touch now

That’s going to be important. I think that if he and Ayers wouldn’t have missed so many on the run in the 2nd half, they’d still have their strokes

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 1:38 PM EST reply actions

Rob Kurz

just got a shout-out as being a guy we really miss. Don’t tell us that

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 1:45 PM EST reply actions

J-Peep is having the game of his life.

Maybe this could lead to great things in the next couple of games

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 1:46 PM EST reply actions

HUGE free throws for Gody

he makes them both. 85-70, 5:03 left

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 1:48 PM EST reply actions

Our D is embarrassing.

If you can dribble, you can blow by Ayers/Hillesland

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 1:49 PM EST reply actions

91-75 with 3:33 left

Monster win for the Irish if we can hold on.

Sadly, up 16 with 3:33 left does not a Notre Dame win guarantee

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 1:51 PM EST reply actions

91-78 after a Peoples charge and a Providence 3

ND playing some good small ball. Hillesland is gonna have to make a few from the line for us to pull this out tonight

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 1:55 PM EST reply actions

J-Peep and Hillesland

They’re going to be at the line often in these last 2:23

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 1:56 PM EST reply actions

97-82

100 easily in sight with 2:02 left.

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 1:57 PM EST reply actions

Lot of bench time for Jackson today

If Peoples is going to play this well, I’m okay with it.

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 2:03 PM EST reply actions

Great win for the Irish!

103-84. Recap’ll be up in a few.

by mhb on Feb 21, 2009 2:04 PM EST reply actions
