"That was a stolen kiss in the dark of the night": Notre Dame Snaps The Streak, Pounds Louisville 90-57

Thanks to Bob Knight for the quote above, which he used in the first half to describe a Luke Harangody bank shot.  The announcing crew was - uh - interesting, but there were some great lines.

The Irish stepped up in every way - knocking down shots, dominating the boards and forcing Louisville into one of their worst offensive games of the season - to end the worst losing streak of Mike Brey's Notre Dame tenure.  There is still a long way to go before talking about the tournament, but a win like this, when you dominate a great team on every level, feels fantastic and makes stuff like this considerably more enjoyable

South Florida looms on Sunday, but celebrate tonight, Irish faithful.  It was a long walk through the desert, but this game was a tall drink of your preferred alcoholic beverage.

it's fair to say I deserved that.

Regardless of last night’s crtitical beatdown, the diary was still kinda funny. No?
Anyway, thanks for reading and stay tuned for my next opus – “25 Random Things About Mike Brey’s Hair” featuring:

12) Did you know this isn’t even Brylcreem? It’s all natural!

But seriously, congrats to your boys. They ruined my weekend good.

Yes it was

I don’t picture ’Gody that way, but it was enjoyable.

I’m a little surprised something sarcastic like that wasn’t written here first by a disgruntled fan.

But a much needed and enjoyable win – can’t believe the Irish haven’t won since before the first L-ville game!

I just posted up a comment to Mike R's Card Chron game review and

I’m not sure why it didn’t occur to me earlier, but in a karmic sense this outcome was inevitable. We played a very close game three weeks ago in the hall. The resulting overtime loss sent a good Notre Dame team into an inexplicable tailspin. Seven losses later the Irish get to host the team that started their downward spiral and exact revenge. Edgar Allen couldn’t write poetic justice that well.

besides, I want to see the Irish make the dance, I’ve got a bet with an ACC-loving buddy of mine that hinges almost entirely on the number of teams each conf puts into the tournament.

As far as my ‘Gody interpretation goes, he may very well be the biggest stud on campus, but when it comes to parody, dorkiness is infinitely funnier than studliness. He may not approve, but I’m sure he’d agree.
