New Blog: Cowboy Altitude for Wyoming Fans!

Commenced.

Sorry for falling off the grid for the last week, folks, but it was the final few days of my collegiate career, so there was no time for blogging as my family, friends and I took part in more ceremonies, pictures and tassel-turning then you would think could be crammed into one weekend.  The ceremony itself was saved by my foresight of bringing some of the best of Will Shortz with me and Martin Sheen's energetic, rambling, pretty awesome speech.  Although it was a bit windy Sunday, the South Bend weather wasn't any worse than usual as the Class of 2008 moved on into the real world.

Thankfully, this drought in content coincided with a drought in anything going on in this site's breadwinners (college football and hoops), as the cold darkness of the offseason continues.  There's the continuing schedule conflicts (now co-starring Nick Saban!), a look at how OMG bad Notre Dame will be in NCAA Football 2009 (July 15th!) and more hope that the OJ Mayo controversy is going to bring down Troy (Bruins Nation is having a field day with this, having amended their extensive list of Southern Cal malfeasances ).

In other Irish sports news, the men's lacrosse team fell to Syracuse 11-9 on Sunday while the softball team also was eliminated from NCAA competition .  The baseball team is gearing up for the Big East tournament (for a good look at how the selection process works for collegiate baseball, something I'm woefully unprepared to discuss with any sort of detail, head over to our Nebraska site, Corn Nation, who gives this piece from last year as suggested reading).

Charlie Weis will be taking a page from Mike Brey's book, going overseas to visit troops , along with Mark Richt, Tommy Tubberville, Randy Shannon, and per EDSBS , "some dude who coaches at Yale."

In the coming weeks, I'll be swapping some early summer updates with Dave at Maize N' Brew about Michigan, anxiously awaiting Phil Steele, gorging myself on summer movies, books and Deadwood.  So my question to you, fair readers, is: Anything else you want covered?  I want to give a proper eulogy for the 2007-2008 hoops team and look back on four seasons worth of Irish football, but other than that, I'll have some free time to research and write, so what do you want looked at?

Drop me a line at the e-mail to your left or leave some suggestions in the comments.
