Notre Dame at Boston College, And Everything Prior To It Open Thread

Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Boston College Eagles, Nov 8, 2008 8:00 PM EST

Folks, there is a lot of great college football action all day and all night Saturday.  Before, during and after  the showdown starts in Chestnut Hill, stop by here and relay what you're seeing throughout the day.  Who deserves to play for the "championship?"  Who do you want the Irish to play in a bowl game?  What coach is getting fired?

Go Irish, Beat Eagles.

skunkbears up 22-3

and look to be on their way to their third win of the season.

i think that defense got a major wake-up call after giving up 48 to Purdue last week. that’s really the one difference between last year’s ND team and this year’s Michigan team – they actually have some talent on defense. the offense isn’t as comically inept, but it’s close. i’m really surprised that Sheridan is doing so well seeing as how most regard him as a pretty big drop-off from Threat.

other thoughts: on what grading scale could Georgia still be ranked 14th? does that mean someone must have them in their top ten in their poll? they’ve trailed 30-0 and 49-3 at different points this season. oh wait, they beat LSU – who inexplicably is ranked 15th! give the defending champs credit though, they did beat a really shitty five-loss Auburn team on the road.

the SEC love-fest drives me nuts. i hate Penn State almost as much as i hate teams like SC, Michigan, BC, etc. but how could you possibly rank them behind a team (Florida) that lost to Ole Miss at home? even in the crappy Big Ten, if PSU goes unbeaten they absolutely deserve a shot at a NC.
