And when they defeat you, you're Tar Heel Dead: Second half turnovers doom Notre Dame at North Carolina in 29-24 loss

Fsymsogxoeh24dojhceju9yvo1_500_medium

I don't want anyone to think the above cartoon is in any way insinuating Notre Dame didn't deserve to lose that game or had it stolen from them.  There were two jump ball, heads-or-tails reviews in the final minutes which were split evenly, and the fact the Irish were even granted that final drive is a miracle in its own right.  You can't have four second half turnovers and create none of your own and win on the road.  Cam Sexton outplayed Jimmy Clausen in the second half, and Notre Dame couldn't win if the pendulum swung that way.

Instead, just think about how good this team looked in the first half and parts of the second and remember that the Irish are a respectable 4-2 (playing a lot of underclassmen) going into their bye week.  There's a lot to parse from this game - and from the five prior to it - over the next fortnight before the team heads to Seattle for a must-win, so enjoy the slate of sports tonight and we'll break down where things went very, very wrong over the next few days.

Go Irish, Beat Huskies.

Nessler sure doesn’t have any problem letting his disdain for ND show through in his broadcasts does he? First the Mich. St. game and now the Carolina.
