The 2006-2007 Notre Dame recruiting season:

I've been following recruiting for about 5 years now and I have to say this is the craziest shit I've ever seen.  We'll have more on today's events later tonight.

Mood?
What's the mood among the faithful, Rob? Are people upset? Confused? Concerned?

I surfed some ND boardss to try to get a feel, but didn't have time to draw any definitive conclusions.

Angry about Greg Little, that's about it I think.
There are two things bugging the folks at ndnation.

First is that Little apparently strung our staff along, leading them to believe that his commitment was firmer than it actually was.

Second is that there was an article at one of the pay sites by someone who is ostensibly for ND (an ND alum, Prister) suggesting that Little might go to LB, whereas he wants to play WR, and ndnation is pissed because it's the sort of thing that nobody who is actually favorable to ND would speculate about before signing day.

Confused
Not really mad.

We lost some very close battles that probably would've changed if we hadn't gotten blown out the way we did.

What was odd about this year's recruitment is the # of players that verballed multiple times.

With Chris Little, he went from FSU to ND to UGA.  The last commitment came this morning.

With Greg Little (no relation), he went from deciding between ND and UNC at a PC earlier this year to not being able to decide (at the actual PC) to picking ND to picking UNC.  The latter, of course, occurred at about 10 am this morning.

Weis got a taste of some bad medicine.  And he's pissed. Rightfully so.
