Hold That "Hail to the Victors" Request, Rocky Top: Les Miles to stay at LSU?

After being absolutely terrified that Jon Tenuta would be sending blitz after blitz at the Irish for the next few seasons, things have certainly changed quickly and Les Miles might be staying at LSU?  From the Detroit News:

Les Miles will not be Michigan's next head coach, according to sources close to the situation.

Miles has signed a lucrative multi-year, extension with LSU.

"It's done," said a source close to the situation. "He's staying at LSU."

Say what?  1:45 press conference to presumably seal the deal.  Things are certainly getting crazy , and potentially desperate, in Ann Arbor.  I'll be monitoring the situation as a form of procrastination.

Update [2007-12-1 14:10:43 by CW]: Actually, play the "Victors." Miles just had a brief press conference where he said he was the head coach of LSU right now, wasn't interested in leaving and had a game to play. Zip on the contract extension. You'd think if they could have put this thing to rest, they would have, but it's just turning into a giant fustercluck. Chaos reigns.

Update [2007-12-1 16:52:8 by CW]: Just a quick update of the first five hours of this afternoon: Les Miles will be staying at LSU, Matt Ryan is still really clutch and nobody cares about the ACC Championship game. Everyone got that? Excellent.
